Hi Maykeling,

There maybe different reasons why an AP is not joining the controller:
1. AP License is not enough in the ZD.
2. ZD firmware is new\old with the AP firmware.
3. AP firmware.
4. AP is not able communicate with the ZD.
5. AP is unable to get the config from the ZD.

It would be best to contact our support team so that they can help on this.

I have 15 licenses available in the ZD

Download the firmware 104.0.0.0.1347 for the AP, but it does not connect to the ZD.

Olnly the AP r510 do not connect the r300 and r310 I have no problems.

Hi Maykeling,

Could you confirm the ZD version as well.

Also try SSH into the AP and run below commands.

get version
get director ip
ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
set director ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxx
reboot

*Where x.x.x.x is the ZD's IP address.

That is a compatible version with R510.

Try a factory reset on AP and run the command I have provided on my last comment.

Hi Maykeling,

Could you check and make sure ZD has licenses and auto AP join approval is enabled.

Could you share the output of below command.

get director

get syslog log

Could you check if AP is configured with correct IP/subnet and the gateway?



get ipaddr wan

if it is not configured with correct IP/subnet/gateway, please correct the configuration on DHCP side or staticaly assign the correct IP.

set ipaddr wan IP_ADDR SUBNET GATEWAY

Also make sure port mentioned on below article are open on all the firewall/gateway between ZD to AP.

If my IP parameters are configured correctly, I have everything static. I'll check the ports part.

The strange thing is that it only happens with the r510, the r310 connect perfectly.

We need to check what is happening in R510 and why it is not able to connect.

One more thing is worth checking before you contact support, AP country code settings and ZD country code setting.

Run below commands on AP.

get countrycode

get boarddata

Is you controller running on US country code? If yes, then I don't see any issue.

Hi Maykeling,

This is why AP is not connecting to controller.

AP is purchased with US product/part number "901-R510-US00" and ZD is configured with different country code than US.

You have two options to fix this issue.
  1. Return the APs to the reseller and purchase the APs with "901-R510-WW" code.
  2. Change the country code of ZD from GT to US (Strongly NOT recommended, as it may be against your local country telecommunication regulatory rules).
