Seem to remember that at some point (depending on your firmware vs installed java version) map view would fail to render due to incompatibilty.

Also that (in my case) an upgrade to firmware 9.5 sorted the issue and map view now works with Java 7.

Just a thought.

Yes Max is correct!

ZD running with 9.4 will not support Java 7(Need to use Java 6 update 31). If your ZD is running with 9.5 and above, Java 7 is compatible.

Please see the KB article below for your reference.

Hope this helps!

That is not true for me anyway. I run fw 9.6.0.0.267 and Java 7.51.
Map view won't show due to security settings.

I replaced java 7_25 with 6_31 & map view is now working with IE. But Mozilla Firefox does work? I am running 9.1 built 23. Thx to everyone for your input.

Hi Alfred,

We strongly recommend you to upgrade your device to the latest firmware as it is running with old firmware to avoid these issues as there are lot of changes has been done in the latest code.

Please go through the release notes which is available in the website before performing the upgrade or kindly contact Ruckus Technical Support in case if you have any further questions | clarifications.

Cheers,
Srini

FYI:
I've got some old cisco devices w/ GUIs that depend on some old java version unlikely to be installed on any windows machine beyond NT4.

AFAIK: using java for a gui is likely to eventually cause unsupported version problems.
(auto-install scripts where I work regularly back-rev or up-rev my java version per-login, making map view a troubled feature at best)

So... The next time there's a major overhaul, how about scrapping java in favor of javascript + other browser features?

I've got the latest firmware and the map view keeps asking me for Java 7 in IE 10, even though I've got Java 8 installed. In Chrome (latest version) it loads fine, but all of the controls are not present (can't remove APs from map due to no red x being available to do so, etc.). Anyone else having this issue?

This issue stills persists, I'm running 9.8 and Java 6u31, 7u25, and 7u51 do not work in either Chrome or IE. Can you update this feature or remove it entirely please?
