Events/Activities list user as the MAC can it use the host name?

I have a group of users that connect to the WLAN via IPADS the Zone Director list the User as the MAC of the device in Events/Activities is there a was to display it as the host Name?

My ipads display their names.

go to: currently active clients...clients...edit columns...choose device name (use green plus sign)

does that help?

The detects user area below is what I was looking for:

AP[AP-WB-1] radio [11a/n] detects User[04:15:52:16:fb:05] in WLAN[SMN] roams from AP[AP-WB-4]

Hello Jeremy,

With reference to your post above, it is not possible to get the Host Name in the Log messages of the ZD, as these are messages about clients connecting/roaming/disconnecting to/from an AP, this is always displayed with respect to the clients MAC as this what the AP and ZD use and not the Host Name. If you would want this feature to be implemented I suggest you raise a Feature request with your regions SE.

Hi Jeremy,

If you want an unofficial solution, and if you are using chrome, you can install a chrome extension called regx. It is a regular expression and text converter for the web. You can run the extension and fill it with your mac address, and replace it with the host name you want to see in the events/activities.
