We are using a ZoneDirector in the main olffice to control all APs, including branch offices. Every user has its own PSK to login. When one of our branch offices goes offline, their Wireless connectivity also gets interrupted. Is it because the AP lost connectivity with the Director? If yes, can we configure that if APs lose connection they still can work with their current settings?

Hello Jan,

with reference to your post, which version of firmware is present on the ZD? If you are on version 9.5.1.0.50, you have the Auto Recovery feature present on the ZD under Configure > Access Points> AP Policies > Auto Recovery. Once this feature is enabled even if the AP looses connectivity to the ZD the clients connected to this AP will be able to go online and use the internet but no new connections will be accepted.
If you are on a version other than 9.5, contact support for the correct upgrade path and get the ZD upgraded to the recommended version to use this feature.

All the best.

Jan, just to add to what Bittu said: clients of below type remain connected even when AP looses ZD connectivity:

OPEN
WEP
WPA/WPA2 (PSK)
WPA/WPA2 (DPSK)
WPA/WPA2 (Enterprise)
WISPr (captive portal)
AD/LDAP (captive portal)

Once AP reboots and AP does not join back, above client type will not able to reconnect + new clients connections also get impacted. this is working as designed.
