You can use any wispr solution. WE used at least 3 different portals, all worked just fine.

Hi Harald,

v/SZ newer version has internal WISPr portal, you can use it for a quick demo.

Not exactly what I want.

I want to develop a customized Wispr Portal on a linux server to be used with the smartzone.

vSZ documentation has code example for Wispr portal, including  details of manipulations of user access.

I am not awear about any WISPR portal embedded in the vSZ. Actually, as much as I know there is no such thing (at least in v. 5.2). There is the guest portal, but it is quit different thing.

As there are a lot of developed WISPR portals are available, writing another one doesn't make very much sense, from practical point of view it would be better to use and customize some standard solution, which is supported and is under constant development.

Different case, if you do it as hobby, or to learn technology, than it is very much justified. Otherwise using, for example, Packetfence makes more sense.

Hope it helps.

Understanding the logical workflow of authentication in a WISPr portal will help you get it working....

1. Client connects to WISPr WLAN unauthenticated.  Client is only allowed the whitelist.  Client gets redirected to the webpage by the SZ.  The SZ provides several parameters (client information) to the webpage in the redirection (examine the URL on the client when redirected and you will see it).

2.  The webpage(s) post an authentication request to the SZ - also providing paramaters (some are the parameters it received).

3.  The SZ uses the information to send a RADIUS request (can be internal or external AAA you define).

4.  RADIUS responds with accept or deny to the controller and the controller changes the client status to reflect this.  The SZ presents the authentication request with a reply (completing the WISPr webpage authentication request).

i got the wispr portal running with username and password.

is there any way to use the wispr portal as a 1 click portal without username and password?

as a workaround i have the username and password field hidden with prefilled username and password.
