cant access web admin page set up vf2825 replied by support @ Mon, 06 Oct 2008 16:25:17 -0000

Hi beolight,

Which VF2825 model do you have? We have several models (VF2825, VF2825-0, VF2825-3) that operate in different mode. If you have VF2825, DHCP server function is enabled on the LAN ports and the Data WLAN, and you should configure your PC to obtain IP address automatically. If you have one of the other two 2825 models, you should provide a DHCP server whether it be your router modem or what not.

What kind of router modem do you have? Is it a cable modem? If it is, you may have to hard reset (factory reset) for it to recognize a newly attached device.

When you connect 2111 to 2825, 2111 connects to the Video WLAN of the 2825. The Video WLAN runs in bridge mode and you will have to have a DHCP server available for the PC Ethernect connected to 2111. If you want 2111 to connect to 2825’s Data WLAN, you can search our FAQ for the instruction.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

cant access web admin page set up vf2825 replied by beolight @ Sat, 04 Oct 2008 01:18:31 -0000

Hi there

I am getting very frustrated trying to set up these products

I have followed instructions on quick set up GUIDE and manual with little or no success. the quick set up guide saysobtain ip address automatically whereas manual says assign ip address??

I have tried restting and this sometimes(actually twice out of 100s of attempts)gives me brief access to web admin page but as soon as I try to set up wep security I lose connection

Connecting through windows wireless gives me limited connectivity message if i dont get asked for WEP key during connecting process

I get 2 solid greens on the vf2825(buttons1+2) button 3 is orange and button 4 is not lit up

when i connect the 2111 to the 2825(lan port on 2825) i get all 4 lights green on both devices and typing in 192.168.0.254 gives me admin page but again when i try click on any of the menu pages i get document contains no data page and lose the connection

i am connecting vf2825 wan port to my router modem and connecting an ethernet cable from the LAN port on my pc to the lan ports on the vf2825

pc LAN port is configured with fixed ip address 192.168.0.100

Serial number on vf2825 is VF40007624

i am using belkin n1 vision router/modem

Please advise on what to do

Currently I’m investigating the usage/deployment possibilites of a network based on a zonedirector 3000 and about 20 AP’s. However I have some specific questions which are:
- Is it possible to wifi enable/disable users at any moment (will they be instantly disconnected)
- Is it possible to interface a zonedirector to a custom application that enables us to make a simple user enable/disable decision based on time

Thx

Vista replied by pkp @ Thu, 02 Oct 2008 05:27:25 -0000

Problem is with ZD1006 and ZD 1012. Running versions 3.0.4.0 – 140 and 143

We are in a corporate environment that generally does not use Vista. With the spread of WiFi we are seeing a number of home computers entering and some are running Vista. Since these machines are privately owned there is some reluctance to have staff update drives, tweak registry, etc.

I will check to see if Vista client machines that cannot connect have all patches and service packs before I respond.

http://support.ruckuswireless.com/software/29
http://support.ruckuswireless.com/software/30
These are nothing is different.

WifiZone	00:0E:8E:7C:B5:53	AP	no	11	15/0	0
WifiZone	00:C0:CA:19:FD:B6	AP	no	13	31/0	0

This is what the older MM2211 sees. The best (closer) network would be 00:C0:CA:19:FD:B6. By setting the BSSID mode to “Locked”, it works as it should. However, the newer MM2211 doesn’t see this network, and if set to “Locked” it can’t ever connect!

WifiZone	00:0e:8e:7c:b5:53	AP	no	11	18/0

Data WLAN not available ? replied by david2563 @ Wed, 24 Sep 2008 21:44:37 -0000

Hi dear support team

I am a 2825/2811 user from Switzerland, who got your hardware from BLUEWIN TV, my current IPTV provider, as an alternative to a wired connection when i moved home, since it would have been a “architectural” nightmare to bring a wired connection between my ADSL router and the Set top box… ;-)

First of all, let me thank you for YOUR GREAT PRODUCT ! It is a wonder and works perfectly. (had tried a Devolo Powerline adapter 85Mbits before my IPTV provider came with your solution, but the the IPTV signal with the DEVOLO was not fluent, so I was eager to test your stuff once it became officially available from our IPTV provider).

Since the WLAN-Modem/Router from my IPTV provider (also being my internet provider) had WLAN and the Ruckus was sitting right next to it, I disabled the WLAN from my router and only use the RUCKUS as an AP for both my Set-top box and my notebooks + PLAYSTATION 3.

However, in the settings of the 2825, I only see a tab “Video WLAN” and my Notebooks + the PS3 actually connect to that SSID.

My question: I have seen comments about a DATA WLAN, both in this forum but also in the 2825 doc available from your website…how is it I cannot “see”/access this in my 2825 ?

Also, do I risk bandwidth issues when I will have my second IPTV box connected to the 2825 ?

and last but not least: where could i purchase only a 2811 ? My IPTV provider only sells a combo offer with 1×2825 and 1×2811...not the best deal for me…

Thanks a lot for your answers to those few questions.
David

Use a 2825 as an AP? replied by mestrini @ Mon, 22 Sep 2008 21:33:05 -0000

Thanks for the reply but i already have it connected to the 2wire boosting the signal to a 2111. In fact i have two wireless signals since i can’t make my Ubuntu laptop connect to my Ruckus; thus the 2wire broadcasting.

Problem is i have two desktop PCs away from the 2wire and only one 2111 to receive the signal and i’m not willing to buy another. That’s why i asked about converting the 2825 so that the signal cold be passed to both PCs via LAN ports.

I guess i’ll have to buy a USB wireless or see if i can pull it off with a linksys router lying around.

Thanks anyway

Cheers
Use a 2825 as an AP? replied by support @ Fri, 19 Sep 2008 18:28:14 -0000

Hi mestrini,

The 2825 is an Access Point and you can not use it as a wireless extender. Will disabling wireless on the 2wire and using your 2825 as the sole wireless AP work by connecting WAN port to your 2 wire gateway? If you want to extend the wireless coverage, you can add MM2211 to your set up.

Kind Regards,
