I have factory reset my ZD1000 after failing to guess what password I must have used, but can’t find any document which tells me the default password. Luckily this system is not actually in use yet!

When a ZD is factory reset, you don’t need any password to log in. Please refer to the following FAQ item in our support web.

Q: How can I discover the Ruckus ZoneDirector so I can use a Web browser to see the Web UI?

A:
You can always locate the Ruckus ZoneDirector using a UPnP client application, which is available on all Windows XP systems. Go to the ‘My Network Places’ window and make sure the ‘Show icons for networked UPnP devices’ is enabled. Once the Ruckus ZoneDirector icon appears, double-click the icon to start your default browser to connect to the management page. Or, right-click on the Ruckus ZoneDirector icon, select Properties and find the Device Address. And then manually enter the IP address onto the address bar of your browser.

Note that UPnP requires that your administrative PC be on the same IP subnet of the Ruckus ZoneDirector. Also note that in factory default state, and in case the ZoneDirector is NOT connected to a network with a DHCP server, ZoneDirector assigns itself the address of 192.168.0.2.

I have recently just reset a customer Zone Director and it has now got the 192.168.0.2 default IP address. However, I am still not able to log in without a username and password. I’ve also tried the Super/sp-admin credentials but with no success. Has my ZD somehow not reset fully?

Hi George,

If you hard reset the Zone Director then the ZD will not ask any user name and password to enter and you need to configure the Zone Director from the beginning. If you are able to see the ZD’s login page again then probably it just rebooted(instead of hard reset) so try login to the ZD using your previous credentials.

The default login credentials for a factory defaulted ZoneDirector is “admin / admin”. The “super / sp-admin” credentials are default login to an AP that is not managed by ZoneDirector. ZD managed APs have same login as the ZD that manages them.

as far as i know when you do factory reset, there should be no password yet for you have to do the initial setup first.

Have a “new” never used zd1000 6 channel. Connecting via browser causes request for login name and password. It’s NEVER been turned on until now. Tried factory reset 10 secs reset button, red flashing changed to green flashing indicating factory reset BUT login issue remains. Tried admin | admin but same issue. Suggestions?
