Hello, I have received brand new Zone Director 1000 and it seems to have problem to start.
When I turn it on, it switch on status LED to red and stay so. If I connect something to Ethernet port, port comes up (both LEDs on, amber and green), and after about 5 sec ZoneDirector seems to reboot—status LED goes off for ~10sec, and it goes than in cycles. I can’t establish IP connection to look for configuration or debug, as port is going down all the time. There is a serial port on a ZoneDirector, so I probably would be able to get more about situation using it, but there is no info about cabel pinout and settings. Can you advice how to do it, or I need just send back the box for the replacement?

I connected successfully to a ZoneDirector with a simple null modem cable, 11500, 8N1, no flow.

Correction: 115200, 8N1, no flow

Thanks to everybody for info, I also used null-modem cable, successfully connected to the box and found that it can’t boot as “no partition is mounted” and no images available. I discusssed this with support and get RMA already. So no problem any more.
I still suspect that it would be worth try to format flash and load new image in it, but I couldn’t get instructions how to do it. It’s also possible that it was actually flash fault, and no formatting would help.
Anyway problem is resolved, and I am completely satisfied how it was handled. I receievd box from Netherland, which is very convinient ( EU, so no customs, usually the main expense in the case of RMA).
Upgraded to newest mesh software, works really nice…
