I am trying ZD1006 and ZF2925. ZF2925 is default config, ZD1006 already configured with the first wizard. I plug 2925 to ZD by using UTP from port-1 on 2925 to port-1 on ZD which I believe that ZD will be able to interact with 2925’s management VLAN by using untag frame.

The manual and many sources said ZD will automatically search for AP and both of them will handshaking each other. APs will be automatically listed. Then I hand-off the system.

When I view 192.168.0.2, in the monitor tab->access point menu, there is no AP listed. Restarting 2925 or ZD doesn’t help the situation. The system was left running for a period of time, but nothing change. The AP menu of ZD web config page still empty.

What was missing here ? Please advice.

For your information, I don’t know whether this is involved or not. I saw in the Admin->Upgrade page of ZD web config. When I click “To see the access points that can be managed”, the result will be 2 colums (AP model and Bundled firmware).

The first line is <blank>, 4.2.0.0.115 The second line ZoneFlex 2942, 4.2.0.0.115

Is this the reason that ZD cannot map or manage the ZF2925, because it is not made to ?

Below is information of running ZF2925 MAC Address: 00:13:92:20:09:90 Serial Number: ZF10000497 Software Version: gd6-5 4.1.0.96

Hi,

Your 2925 is running a old firmware as you noticed. You have to upgrade to the suggested version. Contact support@ruckuswireless.com
