I bought 2 2825 routers a few weeks ago. Both of them worked fine hooked up to my Internet cable modem and my girlfriends similar installation for quite a while. A couple of weeks ago, her unit stopped transmitting an SSID, and would work intermittently, but never for more than 20 to 30 min or so after recycling the unit.
Last week, my unit started acting the same way. Suddenly dropping off, then after recycling the unit, working for 20 to 30 min before having the signal disappear.
I have tried my unit at 3 other locations hooked to cable modems, with the same result.
Are these units defective, or are we doing something wrong or using them incorrectly?
The intention was to simply use them for home wireless transmission to connect a couple of PCs and laptops.

Tks in advance…

Scott, this sounds like a hardware issue. Are the serialnumbers of the 2×2825s in close range? Have you bought them at the same time in the same shop? Not that I’m implying there is a known issue, I’m simply curious why 2 units failed at roughly the same time.

If possible find out if the problem is caused by the AP or the Power Supply. If the 2825 is in the failed state, can you still access the Web UI? Is the Power LED still on on the AP (first LED on the left)?

My advice is to return the 2 units to the shop where you’ve bought them. They should still be in warranty if you bought them a few weeks ago.
