Hello!
Anyone that has a theory what kind of performace I could expect from a MediaFlex NG/2825?

I have a 100 Mb fiber optics network connection to my house and get around 57 Mbit/s outbound and about 83 Mbit/s inbound when testing against my ISP’s test page, but that is with my Apple MacBook Pro connected directly to the Internet.

As soon as I connect via my newly purchased Ruckus MediaFlex NG/2825 this drops to about 27/30 Mbit/s both in- and outbound…

Is that what I should expect from the non-wireless possibilities?

Thanks in advance!

Well, it seems I had to answer the question myself :-)

I have just replaced the Ruckus with a D-Link 655 gigabit router and the inbound performance is now the same (around 83/85 Mbit/s) whether or not the new router is connected or not :-) The wireless performance is also about 50% better than with the Ruckus.

So although the Ruckus seems like a really stable and good product it is not the best solution of you have a really fast Internet connection at home :-)

Cheers!
