ZoneDirector as a Virtual Appliance
We would would love to see the Zone Director available as a Virtual Appliance that can be purchased (in addition to the ZD 1000 & 3000). For example, it can be listed on VMware’s site: http://www.vmware.com/appliances On some jobs we have certain servers that have tremendous power and redundancy (dual power supplies, mirror drives/ram, etc), and we’d love to make use of that power and cut out items in the rack. Thank you for your consideration. |

I concur. The ability to vMotion/LiveMigrate the appliance is very appealing as well. |
Agreed. I’d like to have it available just for redundancy. I know Aerohive allows for a virtual controller. |
I also would likely use a VM rather than a physical unit. |
Would be very welcome. |
Same. Even for use at our clients DR site in a colo (space is limited) support for VMware is needed. |

I agree, this would be a great option. |
Absolutely. Would love to be able to let my ZoneDirector sit in my vSphere environment and take advantage of all my HA features. |

I’ve been asking for this for a long time. Hope it happens. It would be great for disaster recovery. |
Hyper-v would be nice also |
This would be great to see. |

I know there is some hardware costs included (which are quickly mititgated at the higher tiers I’m sure) but even if the pricing didn’t change I would be happy to buy a virtual appliance. |
Agree 100%. Cost being the same I would purchase virtual vs. physical. |
Same here. |
+1 here too |

This would be nice to have |
